The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) gave its very first concert on 4th January 1896, conducted by no less than Antonín Dvořák. Last year of its 110th anniversary is also celebrated by this publication that ofers the reader a very interesting trip into the history of this prestigious musical ensemble. The collective authors led by Yvetta Koláčková has no missed any important development. The publication also contains an extensive chapter about personalities that became the conductors.
